Swim Comfortably Every Month of the Year
Florida is famous for its sunshine, but even in Southwest Florida, pool water can feel cool through the winter months. A&E Pools installs professional pool heating systems for homeowners throughout Fort Myers and the surrounding region, from high-efficiency heat pumps to gas and solar options, matched to your pool, your budget, and your lifestyle. Already have a heater that is acting up? Our pool heater repair team can often fix it without a replacement.
Southwest Florida may not have harsh winters, but water temperatures across Lee and Collier County dip noticeably between November and March, making an unheated pool uncomfortable or unusable for weeks at a time. For homeowners who have invested in a custom pool, that is lost time in the water. A heating system solves it entirely, extending your swim season through the cooler months and giving you full year-round use of your backyard investment.
We help you choose and install the system that makes sense for your pool size, usage habits, and energy goals, with top-rated Pentair heating equipment and more than 10 years of hands-on experience behind every installation. Licensed (CPC1459515), insured, family owned, and FSPA members, with pool financing options through Lyon Financial, HFS Financial, and Viking to make it affordable.
Not every pool heater is the same. The right choice depends on how you use your pool, how quickly you want it warm, and what your long-term energy costs should look like. We install three primary types, each with distinct strengths in our climate.
The most popular choice for Florida homeowners: highly energy-efficient, extracting warmth from the surrounding air, and exceptionally effective in our mild climate. Because they transfer existing heat rather than generating it, operating costs run significantly lower than gas, making them the preferred option for everyday use and continuous heating.
Ideal when you need rapid heat on demand, bringing water up to temperature quickly regardless of outdoor conditions. An excellent fit if you use your pool less frequently and want it warm fast when you do.
Harness Florida’s abundant sunshine at minimal operating cost. They heat more gradually and depend on sunlight, but they are the most environmentally friendly option and can substantially reduce your long-term energy footprint.
During your consultation we walk through each option in detail against your pool’s size, usage patterns, and priorities, whether that is the lowest monthly cost, the fastest heat-up, or the greenest solution. Want the deep dive first? Read our complete guide to pool heaters, filtration, and automation. Many homeowners pair a new heater with a Pool Automation System for effortless remote temperature control, or bundle it with Pool Equipment Upgrades for a fully optimized setup in a single project.
A pool heater performs best as part of a well-integrated system, and pairing upgrades in one visit delivers the greatest overall value in both project savings and long-term performance. The most popular combination puts remote temperature control, scheduling, and monitoring on your smartphone through a Pool Automation System. Others bundle their heater with a Saltwater Pool System conversion or Pool Equipment Upgrades like a variable-speed pump and energy-efficient filter. While Fort Myers is warm most of the year, water temperatures drop to uncomfortable levels between November and March, especially mornings and evenings. If you want to swim comfortably year-round, a heating system is a smart investment: it ensures you get full use of your pool every month, not just eight or nine out of twelve.
For most Fort Myers homeowners, a heat pump offers the best balance of performance and efficiency. It extracts warmth from the outside air and transfers it to your water, a process that works very well in Florida’s mild climate. Gas heats faster, but heat pumps cost significantly less to run month to month, making them the preferred choice for consistent year-round heating without a high energy bill.
It depends on the heater type (heat pumps, gas, and solar sit at different price points), your pool’s size, and your existing plumbing and electrical setup. Operating cost matters as much as purchase price: a heat pump usually costs more upfront than gas but far less to run. Yes, and it is one of the most popular add-ons we install alongside a new heater. Pentair heating equipment integrates directly with the IntelliCenter and EasyTouch Pool Automation Systems, letting you monitor temperature, set targets, and schedule heating cycles from a smartphone app. Your pool is at the perfect temperature before you step outside.
Most installations are completed in a single day. The timeline depends on heater type, your existing plumbing and electrical, and any modifications needed. Bundled projects with automation or equipment upgrades may take a day or two. You get a clear timeline during your free consultation before any work begins.
We work primarily with Pentair, widely recognized as one of the most reliable and efficient brands in the industry.
