Ambiance, Drama, and Warmth, Built Around Your Pool
When the sun goes down in Fort Myers, your pool does not have to. Custom fire features from A&E Pools transform your backyard into a stunning after-dark destination, where the warmth of fire reflects off the water and every evening becomes an experience. From elegant fire bowls and fire columns to dramatic fire-and-water combinations, we design and install poolside fire features throughout Fort Myers and Southwest Florida that are as safe and durable as they are breathtaking.
A pool fire feature is not just an upgrade; it is a statement. The right fire element beside your pool completely redefines your backyard’s atmosphere, adding warmth, drama, and an intimate glow that makes the space feel intentional and luxurious at any hour. We have designed and installed custom fire features across Southwest Florida since 2017, backed by more than 10 years of hands-on experience building high-end pool environments, with the same precision and care we bring to every pool we build.
As a licensed (CPC1459515) and insured contractor and proud FSPA member, we engineer every fire feature to meet safety requirements, integrate cleanly with your pool’s structure and gas plumbing, and pair seamlessly with your automation, so you manage fire alongside lighting, temperature, and everything else from one app. We serve homeowners throughout Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Sarasota Counties.
Fire bowls are the most popular choice: freestanding or pedestal-mounted vessels producing an open flame, in round, square, and custom shapes, in materials from concrete and copper to natural stone. Fire columns are the architectural option, a tall linear flame adding a dramatic vertical accent to poolside walls or coping. And for ultimate impact, fire-and-water combination features build flames and cascading water into the same structure, a contrast that becomes the undeniable centerpiece of the backyard.
All features run on natural gas or propane and are built to strict safety standards with proper clearances, gas line connections, and automatic shutoff. Each integrates with your pool automation system, so igniting and extinguishing is as simple as tapping your phone. Want fire beyond the pool edge? We also build fire pits and outdoor fireplaces beyond the pool as part of complete outdoor living spaces, and our step-by-step fire pit installation guide covers design ideas and materials if you are still exploring. Fire features reach their full potential as part of a cohesive pool environment. The most stunning designs we build combine poolside fire with the movement and sound of Water Features, flames and cascading water working together for an atmosphere unlike anything else. Add a Spillover Spa and the environment is equally spectacular by day and night.

Yes, when designed and installed by a licensed, experienced contractor. Everything we install meets safety codes and standards: proper gas line connections, appropriate clearances from combustible materials, and automatic shutoff systems. We handle all permitting and inspections required for gas feature installations, and as a licensed, insured FSPA member, safety is a non-negotiable part of every project.
Either, depending on what is available at your property. Natural gas is typically preferred for permanent built-in features because it supplies fuel consistently without tank refills; propane suits properties without a gas line. We assess your property during the free consultation and recommend the best fuel source for your situation.
In many cases, yes. Fire bowls, columns, and certain gas fire pit configurations can be added to existing decks and patios, provided there is access for proper gas line installation and adequate clearances. Feasibility depends on your gas infrastructure, deck layout, and the feature you want. We evaluate your setup during a free consultation and give you an honest assessment.
Through Pentair’s smart pool automation platform: ignite and extinguish remotely from a smartphone or tablet, set schedules, create scenes that activate multiple features at once, and manage everything from one interface, the same one that runs your pump, lighting, and spa.
Absolutely, and it is one of the most requested combinations we build. A flame burning from a bowl or column above or beside a sheer descent or waterfall creates a genuinely show-stopping contrast, especially after dark with LED lighting.
