Precision Engineering. Striking Design. Built by Southwest Florida's Trusted Pool Experts.
An infinity edge pool turns your backyard into a breathtaking visual experience, and A&E Pools builds them with the engineering precision this design demands. As part of our New Pool Construction services, we design and construct custom infinity edge pools throughout Southwest Florida. Whether you are perched on an elevated lot in Estero, steps from the water on Sanibel Island, or building your dream home in Bonita Springs, our team creates vanishing edge pools that are as structurally sound as they are stunning.
Precision Engineering. Striking Design. Built by Southwest Florida's Trusted Pool Experts.
Infinity edge pools, also called vanishing edge or negative edge pools, are among the most visually dramatic and technically demanding pools to build. The signature effect, where water appears to flow endlessly over an edge and vanish into the horizon, requires precise hydraulic engineering, structural planning, and flawless installation. We have been building custom infinity edge pools across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Sarasota Counties since 2017, backed by more than 10 years of hands-on pool construction experience.
An infinity edge pool is not just beautiful; it is a precise hydraulic system. The process starts with a thorough site evaluation of your lot’s elevation, views, and drainage. Our design team then creates a detailed 3D Pool Design showing exactly how the vanishing edge will interact with your sightlines, landscaping, and outdoor living space, so you can refine the design until it is exactly right. Once approved, we manage all Pool Permits & Planning required by your county.
Construction begins with precision excavation and a reinforced steel framework engineered for the hydraulic load of your specific design. We build the main shell and the concealed catch basin with equal care, apply gunite under pressure for a seamless shell, then complete plumbing, electrical, and Pentair equipment installation with recirculation flow rates tuned so the infinity effect works perfectly at all times. Tile, coping, decking, and your chosen finish complete the build. Exploring shapes and styles first? Our Custom Gunite Pools page covers the full range.
Infinity edge pools deliver the most dramatic impact on properties with elevation changes, scenic views, or waterfront access, and Southwest Florida has no shortage of those. We build vanishing edge pools across Lee County (Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Fort Myers Beach, Estero, Bonita Springs, Bonita Beach, Sanibel Island), Collier County (Naples), Charlotte County (Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Babcock Ranch), and Sarasota County (North Port). If your property has a view worth framing, see what that looks like finished in our pool construction gallery.
Not sure an infinity edge suits your lot? We will assess it honestly during a free consultation. If another format fits better, we also build Lap Pools for fitness-focused homeowners and Plunge Pools for compact or courtyard settings. Visit our showroom to see finish samples and talk through your project in person.
An infinity edge pool, also called a vanishing edge, negative edge, or zero-edge pool, is designed so water flows over one or more edges into a concealed catch basin below. A dedicated pump recirculates that water back into the main pool, creating a continuous flow that produces the illusion of an endless, borderless pool. Engineering the catch basin, overflow edge, and recirculation system correctly is essential, and it is where A&E Pools’ experience makes a real difference.
They work best on properties with a natural elevation difference or a scenic view worth framing: waterfront lots, elevated backyards, or homes with open sightlines. Flat or below-grade lots present engineering challenges, though not necessarily deal-breakers. The best way to find out is a site consultation, and we will assess your lot honestly.
An infinity edge pool typically costs more than a standard pool of the same size because of the additional engineering, excavation, catch basin construction, and recirculation plumbing. The premium depends on the length of the overflow edge and the design complexity. We provide detailed, transparent pricing after your design consultation, no vague estimates, and financing is available through Lyon Financial, HFS, and Viking.
All of our infinity edge pools are built in gunite, a high-pressure concrete-aggregate material applied over a reinforced steel framework. Gunite allows precise shaping of the overflow edge, catch basin, and custom contours while providing the strength to handle constant water movement and hydraulic pressure. Yes. We manage the entire permits and planning process for all of our builds across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Sarasota Counties. Infinity pools may require additional engineering documentation compared to standard builds, and our team prepares and submits everything required to keep your project on track.
Absolutely. Gunite’s flexibility means we can incorporate a spillover spa, tanning ledge, sun shelf, underwater bench, or even a lap-lane section into your infinity edge build. During your 3D design session we lay out the full picture so you can see how each feature interacts with the vanishing edge before construction begins.
